Ainsworth’s manufacturing facilities produce technologically-advanced engineered wood products with renowned quality and consistency.
A. 100 Mile House OSB Plant — 100 Mile House, British Columbia
Recognized as an industry leader in quality, this was the first OSB facility with a nine-foot forming line and press, designed to efficiently serve the Japanese market where three-foot board is the standard. Its proximity to the port of Vancouver is an advantage for shipping time and costs to the growing Japanese market, where Ainsworth is the market leader. Production capacity is 425,000 msf-3/8″ per year.
B. Grande Prairie OSB Plant — Grande Prairie, Alberta
Our Grande Prairie facility is the second largest single-line OSB plant in the world. It utilizes a 12-foot wide forming line and press that allows it to produce a variety of panel dimensions and grades to suit North American and Asian markets. Production capacity at Grande Prairie is 675,000 msf-3/8″ per year.
Grande Prairie OSB Plant Extension
The second manufacturing line, to expand Grande Prairie’s production scope and capacity, will be completed when market conditions warrant. The new line will produce laminated strand lumber (LSL) and oriented strand lumber (OSL), and will also have the flexibility to produce OSB. The $300 million extension will increase the manufacturing capacity at Grande Prairie to 1.3 billion square feet of 3/8″ per year.
C. High Level OSB Plant — High Level, Alberta
Operated by Footner Forest Products, this jointly owned OSB facility is the largest single-line continuous press in the world. High Level’s production capacity is approximately 860 million square feet of OSB annually. Ainsworth’s share of OSB production is 430,000 msf-3/8″ per year.
D. Barwick OSB Plant — Barwick, Ontario
Our Barwick facility is known for its strong customer relationships and excellent environmental and safety records. Located near the Canada-U.S. border, the plant is approximately 440 kilometres (275 miles) north of Minneapolis. It produces a variety of value-added OSB products, including premium floor underlayment, rimboard and webstock, in addition to commodity structural sheathing panels. Production capacity k is 480,000 msf-3/8″ per year.
